First, Dr. Felix Ninz made a short introduction about the Chamber of Commerce by giving some general information about its history and structure. Secondly, we discussed how the Chamber of Commerce supports new entrepreneurs. To illustrate the process of starting your own business we were asked to invent a company. He told us to do some research and to choose a legal form first. Then, your business can be registered in the commercial register. But be careful with the legal form because for some businesses there are stricter rules than for others. For example, you need some extra qualifications to run a restaurant. Moreover, the Chamber of Commerce also offers different business courses, for example about digitalization.
The Chamber of Commerce also gives advice on patent and trademark protection. Mr Ninz showed us a Website (“TMview”) where you can find all trade marks that are already registered in the EU.
Finally, he talked about conflict de-escalation in companies and about general export policies.
In general, it was a really interesting and informative presentation. We learned many new things and it was definitely worth the visit.
